Month of pool parties is here

As the city reels under the searing heat, it’s definitely time for a cool dip in the pool. While the rising mercury was a spoiler for pool parties last month, July will see a number of party hubs hosting bashes by the poolside. From plush resorts to small parties at farmhouses, pool bashes are back again, in new avatars, with new menus to suit the rising temperatures.

F&B manager, Courtyard by Marriott Gurgaon, tells us that amongst all the themes, bikini parties are a hit. “A bikini party may not seem like much of a theme but it is definitely a hit as it provides a no-stress atmosphere for all to relax and unwind. We organise water games, which include diving competitions and volleyball. We are planning bashes this month as soon as monsoon hits the city and the theme will primarily focus on beach décor. So from sand to palm trees — the entire plan will have the feel of a beach,” says Rajneesh Kumar from Courtyard.
Another place, which promises to offer fun pool parties in July, is Spasso Club and Lounge. “We already undertook two successful bashes last month. The last Saturday of the month is reserved for pool parties. We have especially created an artificial pool for our guests,” says Naveen Garg, owner, Spasso.
Aqua at The Park, has a specialised menu for their pool parties. “We have a variety of offerings from our chefs and we are also working on the idea of introducing pool acrobats to our parties. Aqua also focuses on offering a different genre of music every time,” says Debjeet Baneree, director, F&B, The Park. Entreprenuer Vaibhav Mehra who’s hosting a pool party for the very first time (on July 8) is using different props to add a touch of glam. “We are using shades like the ones Kareena is sporting in the movie Ek Main Aur Ek Tu.
