Mum’s the word
Michelle Obama definitely stole hearts and connected with men from across the globe. As the First Lady of the United States of America, wifey Obama spoke for her husband and proved that when a lady speaks for her partner, the world definitely takes notice.
Her words have gained such a momentum that Michelle’s speech has gone viral and has beaten other most-watched speeches online. Between all of this, one cannot miss the fact that when a partner vouches for the other, it is something that is most welcomed.
“It’s extremely important and is very uplifting. In fact, it makes the man proud. For me the key is that my wife believes in me and reinforces the thought that what I am doing is right. I get a moral fortitude that what I am doing is correct,” says pilates trainer and cyclist Sharath Sareen. While most men like the fact that their lady is standing by them, there are a few of them who wouldn’t want their lady love to cross the line and come across as fake. “It’s not always a positive thing. It could sometimes work the other way around. Particularly among friends and family, there might be a few people who wouldn’t like to hear too many good things about a man from his wife,” says director Pawan Kumar.
But in Michelle’s case, it wasn’t just her inner circle, the entire world witnessed her admiration for Obama. “She was honest and personal, perhaps that worked for her. But in my case, even when I update my FB page with my achievements, my wife is usually passive with her comments,” adds Pawan. Whatever the case, whether the partner is a tyrant at home or a dictator, for the man, her approval and acknowledgement makes a hell lot of difference. “Getting a supportive partner definitely means a lot to a man. As long as it doesn’t get too personal and she does not reveal the story behind the doors, her words of encouragement do matter. But there needs to be a certain limit and the woman must not go gushing about her partner,” says DJ Jasmeet.
