Music fest goes dressy
In a first-ever collaboration of its kind, fashion designer Nitin Bal Chauhan showcased an interesting mix of music, fashion, colour and counter culture idioms with his label Bhootsavar at the ongoing Escape Festival of Arts and Music.
“There are some people who spend hours cracking a riff, while others who can’t stop their feet when they listen to a beat. Each individual has a passion which helps him express himself, touch freedom and experience madness. The inspiration from all these activities has been converted into complex graphics which are translated into our collection,” said the designer, who is also an avid painter and earlier participated in the festival as an artist.
The collection comprises of T-shirts, dresses, shirts and variations of draped dhoti pants. There is heavy styling in terms of trademark NBC (Nitin Bal Chauhan) metallic headgears, bags and fluorescent scarves. “The collection is inspired E.D.M. and what better venue for our show than a festival that celebrates music and arts. The crowd that comes to attend such exciting festivals is our target client and this is the best way to introduce our product to them,” shared the designer.
Adding a touch of novelty, the fashion show boasts the participation of artists, musicians and even audience members for the ramp walk.
