Music fiesta to celebrate classic rock beats
The 70’s was an amazing time in the history of popular music. Rock, at that time was considered an “experiment,” which would fizzle out since there was no apparent structure to it. To get into the nostalgia of the earlier decades as well as connect them to the present, a day-long festival — ReRock, featuring some of the popular rock bands like High, Moonshine, Contra Band, One Hundred Octane, among others was held at Zorba recently.
“At Re-Rock we played a progressive rock set, primarily comprising our own songs. It was fun to listen to old rock ‘n’ roll numbers from other bands as well,” says Siddharth Rajan, bass player at The Uncertainty Principle.
“Rock music developed from expressing angst of the youth of the 60’s and the 70’s and gradually grew into a movement,” explains Raja Dasgupta, guitarist at Contra Band and Just In Time.
“ReRock fest offers music lovers the best in fusion, jazz, blues, rock, sufi, and folk,” informs Amitanshu Das guitar player, White Fang and Arun Sharma, drummer, Electric Plant and co-organisers of the festival.
