My father is my role model, says Chirag
His father may be a cricketing legend, but Sandip Patil’s son Chirag Patil says cricket is not his cup of tea. Chirag says, “I am meant to make films and act.” He made his debut last year with a Marathi film titled Radda Rocks but he didn’t want to restrict himself to regional films.
His last release Le Gaya Saddam was a critically acclaimed one. Now, he is looking forward to the release of his home production titled Villa that is set to hit the theatres soon.
Villa, as Chirag says, is a psychological thriller. “It tells the story about a psychology professor Arjun played by me. He shifts into his father’s old villa with his newly married wife Rhea, when weird occurences begin to take place.”
Even though Chirag did not follow in his father’s footsteps, he considers him a role model nonetheless. He says, “My father has always been one of the strongest role models in my life. He has complete faith in me and has never objected to my career choices. I am very grateful to him for that. My brother Pratik Patil has also always stood by me. I am very fortunate to have them in my life.”
