Neha has no future plans

It’s been nine years since actress Neha Dhupia made her debut in Bollywood with the multi-starrer Qayamat.

Then came Julie, and Neha was a name to be reckoned with in Bollywood. The actress, however, somehow never attained the super stardom one might have imagined lay in store for her back then. But she seems to be least bothered about her star status. Neha claims to still be one of the most-in-demand actresses in the industry. From her films, item numbers and charity shows to her obsession for fitness, the actress’ many facets keep her busy.
There has been a lot of buzz around her, and most of it focused on the fact that the actress is single again. The romance with her Venezuelan boyfriend, James Sylvester has come to an end. Obviously, Neha is not too pleased when asked about her relationship status. “My personal life is not of public interest. I’ll never use the media to update my relationship status,” says Neha, adding that she is a happy and independent girl.
The actress is known for her item numbers and off-beat roles in films; be it playing a hooker in Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local with Abhay Deol, Vinay Pathak’s childhood crush in Dasvidaniyan or Adolf Hitler’s girlfriend Eva Braun in Dear Friend Hitler, the actress has played them all with elan. But that’s about the past.
Although Neha claims to have no future plans either personally or professionally, she does admit to starting off a new phase in her life. “Marriage is not a priority. If love happens, it happens. I’m not waiting or planning for the future. Right now, my prime focus is on establishing myself as an actress. I want to do different cinema. Luckily, that seems to have become my forte,” says Neha. The actress will be seen in an upcoming film Pappu Can’t Dance Sala with friend Vinay Pathak.
Neha is also geared up for her big act at the IIfa awards ceremony in Singapore. “I love dancing. To display my passion on stage is a huge high,” adds the actress.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
