Neha treads a new path in life
No matter how much the clamour over an actor’s need for privacy, there are few things he/she can do away from the prying eyes of the media. From their professional pursuits to personal alliances, everything he/she does is in the
public eye, and everything grabs eyeballs. Former beauty queen Neha Dhupia, however, is having none of it; she says people’s interests in celebrities’ personal lives is totally uncalled for.
“I don’t think it’s important to talk about my personal life. There is a lot going on in my personal life; I’m doing things, business ventures, etc. I’m single, and when you're single, there seems to be a lot more going on in your life. But it’s really hard to figure out why people would want to know all that, and why they are basically interested who I am going on a candlelight dinner with,” Neha says.
Neha, who was pigeonholed for her bold roles at the start of her career, is slowly moving on to more diverse roles. Currently she is working on Pappu Can’t Dance Saala opposite Vinay Pathak. Before this, she has done performance-oriented roles in films like Mithya, Dasvidaniya, and more recently Phas Gaye Re Obama.
In Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, she will be seen playing the role of an independent and feisty city girl, trying to always prove a point. “I like doing different roles and trying out new things. When I did Phas Gaye Re Obama, it wasn’t easy. But I just had faith in my director and in myself, and I just went ahead and did it. It was a huge risk, but luckily it worked. I hope the same for this film,” she says.
Neha has a couple of more projects in her kitty including Maximum with Sonu Sood and Raftaar opposite Emraan Hashmi.
