Neha wants to keep it simple

It was Delhi’s turn to host a dazzling starry weekend this time at the recently conducted India International Jewellery Week (IIJW). The second day of the event saw the launch of The Great Indian Wedding Carnival by Gitanjali jewellers, where designer Pam Mehta presented her bridal collection and dolled up the pretty actress Neha Dhupia as her showstopper.

The actress, who walked the ramp in pastel coloured couture lehenga with traditional kundan bridal jewellery, looked exquisite as a contemporary bride.
Neha, who was back from Vancouver after hosting an award function, mentioned that due to lack of sleep for two days she was jet-lagged but simply couldn’t resist walking for this show. She says, “Dark coffee keeps me on the go whenever I am sleep deprived. For this show I was asked to portray a global bride, and so the look was very unconventional. After this show I will be heading to Mumbai for another commitment, so currently I can’t spend much time in Delhi.”
Though the actress has no plans to tie the knot currently, she mentioned that whenever she will get married, she will choose a simple and offbeat outfit. “I don’t want to have a grand wedding. In the film industry we get married every now and then, be it in the media, in films or on the ramp. I feel the day I actually get married, I will choose something very simple and pastel. I would never go for a red bridal outfit or some heavy ensemble which is complicated or uncomfortable. For jewellery, I would pick up something in uncut diamonds or jadau statement pieces.” she said.
Neha, who was the Twitter ambassador for WIFW’s last edition, mentions that though she is not a gadget freak, she likes to be updated about technology. She says, “I am technical enough to qualify for the 21st century. With social networking sites, I stay connected to my friends.”
The actress also mentions that soon she will be seen on TV as a judge of a reality show. Speaking about her other projects that are in pipeline, she mentions, “I am very excited about my next release Rangeelay, which is my first Punjabi film with Jimmy Shergill, it is slated to release on May 16. Besides that, I am also doing Renzil D’Silva’s Ungli with Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
