New Age CFLs
Electrical and lighting company, Remson & Rallison Group has come out with a high power factor CFL lamp that boasts of excellent energy saving and lumen output. The company’s latest range of energy-saving CFLs, available from 5 to 85W offer a high power factor (HPF) greater than 0.85 integral ballasts. “We strictly follow the regulatory norm of keeping the mercury content in the CFL below 3 mg,” says Rishabh Babbar, CEO, Remson.
The new range has designs of 2U, 3U, 4U, Spiral and PLL that cater to indoor and outdoor lighting needs within a price range of between Rs 130 and Rs 650. “The lamps save 80 per cent energy as compared to normal lamps,” Babbar adds.
This January, Havells India also launched a range of CFLs with HPFs greater than 0.85 integral ballasts, positioning them as more energy efficient and eco-friendly comparisons to normal CFLs. The new categories of CFLs, from companies like Havells, Remson & Rallison and others focus on the unhealthy mercury content contained in CFLs — an environmental menace when the lamps are disposed of.
