No issues with link-ups

After Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan, it’s Bipasha Basu’s turn to face the big wedding question. The actress, who is single after a 9-year-relationship with John Abraham, says that she becomes completely numb when quizzed about her wedding. The otherwise strong and independent Bipasha says that she doesn’t need marriage in order to settle down.
“Why does everyone want me to settle down?” she asks smiling adding, “I think I’m already a little too settled in life. I don’t need a man to give me the security that most women are looking for.” Now if only she could convince her mum about this since Aunty Basu has been asking Bipasha to settle down. “My mother is some sort of a spy. She is always checking on me and asks me weird questions every time she reads about my supposed link-ups,” says Bips. She admits that there is a pressure from her mother to tie the knot. “In fact, my father understands that his daughter is capable of looking after herself. But no, my mother still thinks I should get married,” she laughs.
Recently, Bipasha made news for a bold statement about ex-beau growing old. She spoke about how John should get married, as he is getting old. However, she refuses to clarify anything with respect to that statement. “I’m not the type who’ll go around giving clarifications. After having spent more than a decade in this industry I’ve become rhino-skinned. Accusations and link-ups don’t affect me anymore,” says Bipasha. And link-ups aren’t an issue if they involve good-looking men. “As long as I’m linked with handsome and young and above all single men, I have no issues,” she laughs. Considering it’s been a while since Bipasha has been single, she is making the most of her singledom. “Suddenly I have so much time for myself. Since I’m single, I have the freedom to pamper myself and for a change, not the man I’m dating,” chuckles Bipasha.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
