Now watch a movie on your cellphone

Now, techno-freaks have another reason to celebrate, as the 3G-spectrum launch in India will now allow many broadband service providers to enable their mobile users. This means you can download full length movies, make video calls, watch television shows, games and get a host of new services at a very high speed on your phone.
After MTNL launched 3G in Mumbai and Delhi, many other private operators including Airtel, Reliance and Vodafone will also launch it by the end of the year. The news h

as excited youngsters, who are looking forward to interesting applications that will soon be available on their cellphones.
Says Dhruv Datta, a football player, “It sounds exciting, but it will only last if the call rates on video, voice and browsing the Internet on cellphones are reasonable. Moreover, I’m excited about playing multiplayer games when I’m online and I also like to watch the latest movies online. I’m looking forward to watching Inception on my mobile thumbnail screen.”
Although its video call and web chat are among the most talked about applications, many are still wary about its proper usage.
Says Vatsal Verma, an engineering student, “I’m interested in the video. It’s great to talk to your loved ones on video calls, whenever you want. But come to think of its legalities, privacy might be an issue. Imagine you are in a pub and your boss calls and demands a video chat. Then it will be very difficult to lie.”
Seconds Guncha Dua, who believes that it can even increase cases of MMS scandals. “Though TV, song and movie combinations are a promising deal for mobile users, I don’t see any negatives, unless one counts a rise in the number of MMSes floating around. Some youngsters, who out of excitement will now use their video calls to capture videos and upload it on YouTube or social networking sites. This will all be done in a day’s work, and instead of a web cam, a simple mobile can do the trick faster now,” she says.
