Pay it cool to tame anger
On one of his leisure trips to a mall, Charak Almast witnessed a small kid fighting with another to take back his toys. The incident triggered the storyline idea for Charak’s first online game Angry Baby, which turned out to be a huge success with over 7,000 downloads on app store and 700 on Google Play in the first month of its launch. The game has been rated 4.7 out of 5 in Google Play store.
“The free game that features 20 levels, propagates the idea that anger, if channelled positively, can be used constructively and that crying and giving up should never be a choice,” says Chalak.
And never giving up holds true for the 20-year-old game developer who took only two months to develop the game that he says he expected to become a hit. The game is fun, challenging, engrossing and the excitement increases at every level. It has all the elements that make a game popular.
And Charak knows what all it takes to get people hooked on a video game. After all, he has been playing games since he was six years. The pocket video games would be found in the middle of his textbooks, under the blankets and inside his school bag. From Tetris, Snake, Charak moved to Mario that continues to be his favourite game till now.
“Games have been an inseparable part of my life since I could remember. Once I played for two days continuous barring a few small breaks,” recalls Charak.
Presently pursuing BCA at Lafayette, University of Louisiana, he will be releasing a Candy Catch game soon.
Charak says that it takes him about 7-10 days to make a simple game. “I am working on more game ideas and aim to make many more,” he says.
