Plant stem cells can benefit in cell regeneration

Stem cells have become the subject of many a discussion these days and beauty experts believe that plant stem cells, in particular, could hold the key to more effective and safe treatments in future.
According to Dr Kanchan Bansal, a dermatologist who is also researching the effectiveness of plant stem cells, the reason why they are beneficial in beauty products is because they help in effective cell regeneration. “Plant stem cells have this amazing property where they can re-generate any kind of cell or tissue. These products are still in the initial stages in India but very soon they will be more accessible.”
One of the other advantages of plant stem cells is that they help protect the skin from the harsh effects of the sun. “They have a unique property where they can fight the damage caused by UV rays, especially when used in combination with other natural ingredients with similar properties, in which case they are more effective,” says Natasha Wadhwa, brand manager with a line of ayurvedic beauty products.
