Puja supports green cause
Looks like it’s been a fruitful year for Hindi film actress and former Miss Universe India Puja Gupta, who grabbed big projects like Go Goa Gone and Romeo Shortcut after making a debut in Faltu last year. Apart from movies, the model-turned-actress was also featured in PETA’s new ad campaign to promote vegetarianism.
To urge fans to follow vegetarianism, Puja has worn a dress made of lettuce leaves and other vegetables in the poster with a caption “Let Vegetarianism Grow on You.” Speaking about her social initiative, Puja mentions, “I am a vegetarian myself and I want more people to be kind towards animals. Atul Kasbekar initiated this project and I was chosen to represent the youth of India. The whole team was very young and a college student designed the lettuce leaves ensemble for us. Photographer Rohan Shrestha shot the ad very artistically, and it was really fun to shoot in this unique outfit.”
Puja mentions that through this campaign she is not trying to impose her views on anyone, but if people start loving animals this world would be a better place. She says, “I grew up in Delhi and in my dad and brother ate non-veg, however my mother is a strict vegetarian and somewhere she influenced my eating habits.”
Speaking about her forthcoming movie Go Goa Gone, she reveals, “I am very exited about this film, and zom-com (zombie-comedy) is a new concept in Bollywood. My role in this movie is full of action and My next film slated to release in June is Shortcut Romeo, where I play the lead opposite to Neil Nitin Mukesh.”
