Ray of hope lights up bleak lives

It was an event for a noble cause when the book, Widows of Vrindavan: A New Life by author Maitrayi Pushpa was released in the capital recently.

At the event, which saw activists and women speak about the cause of the widows of Vrindavan, NGO Sulabh International handed over five ambulances, medical equipment, TV sets and refrigerators respectively to them. “We will arrange training and provide employment to able-bodied widows,” said Sulabh founder Dr Bindeshwar Pathak at the event.
