The bubbly actress still continues to win many hearts with her down-to-earth attitude and effervescent smile. We recently caught up with Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla who talked about her favourite jewellery designs, her love for the capital and her upcoming films.

“I love to dress up and walk the ramp. It takes me to a different world and makes me feel like a princess,” said ex-Miss India Juhi, who recently graced the runway on the final day of India International Jewellery Week for Kays Jewels.
Dressed in a bright red-coloured Bhairavi Jaikishan lehenga-choli, Juhi sashayed down the ramp bejewelled in a beautiful polki set.
“If I could, I would take away all the ornaments that I am wearing right now. They are so intricately designed but very expensive even for me. I wish I could rob a bank and buy loads of jewellery pieces for myself,” quipped Juhi.
The actress cherishes her mother’s precious collection of ornaments and wishes to hand them down safely to her daughter. “When I close my eyes, I can recollect so many jewellery pieces that my mother wore. Since she was a working lady, she used to wear simple yet elegant jewellery pieces. Those items are really close to my heart, as I have fond memories attached to them and they speak of a different era altogether,” said the actress who personally loves Indian motifs and designs like lotuses and other delicate flowers.
Juhi is all set to change her conventional image of a sweet, smiling actress with Soumik Sen’s Gulab Gang, in which she will be playing a completely negative role of a conniving politician. Without disclosing much, Juhi said, “My last piece of shooting will happen at the end of this month. The film be ready to release hopefully by the end of the year.”
Sharing her love for the capital, Juhi said, “Delhi is a very charming and refreshing place. The national capital has so much to boast about — be it the winter season or the lush green parks here, areas like the Parliament street, the India Gate and other historical monuments. These all make you feel so proud of your nation.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
