Remix king on city crawl
He is famous as the âremix kingâ and has earned enough fame at the age of 28. Life is on a roll for DJ Khushi, who has already contributed as the official remix artist for Bollywood hits Chammak challo, Anarkali disco chali, Chikni Chameli, and has remixed albums like Student of the Year, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Aashiqui 2.
âI see it as a compliment when someone calls me a remix king. It is a huge achievement for me. As a DJ, I always think of how to make people dance, and add soul, rhythm and beat to an already hit number. I love to create different versions of songs in a way that the variety compliments the original,â says Khushi.
However, he is also making an effort towards changing peopleâs perception about DJs. âDjing hasnât got its due in India as people feel DJs are not creative as compared to someone who creates an original number. But it is not so. I want people to change their opinion and perception about DJs and recognise their creativity and originality in coming up with new tunes,â says the Delhi-based artiste who soon will be travelling the country as the official DJ of an upcoming reality show IICE â The City Crawl to be aired on Channel V.
Khushi sees the opportunity as a good chance to meet fans in different cities. âWe will be travelling to thirteen different cities for talent hunt and in the process, Iâll be able to meet my fans in cities like Pune, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Udaipur, Indore, Nagpur and Guwahati, which are otherwise not visited too often,â he ends.
