Ride of lifetime for Metal fans

Fans of metal are gearing up to jump onto the Metallica bandwagon. With the Gods of Metal concert nearing, the bus tour to various cities to the concert venue is an added excitement among the metalheads. The brainchild of Vikram Varma, director of an advertising agency and a Metallica fan, says the response so far has been huge. “Everytime there is a concert, travelling is a pain, so my friends and me planned this bus tour. We have tied up with travel operators across India for Bengaluru and Gurgaon shows alongwith bus services in NCR as well.”
The registration for the bus bookings have begun and fans from cities like Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mangalore, Jaipur, Chennai, Cochin have enrolled for the epic concert. “More than a 1,000 people have enrolled from Mumbai and Pune and 412 from Delhi so far. The tentative ticket fares will range between `6,000 and `7,000 for Bengaluru and `2,000 approximately for the local Delhi tour. We’re yet to announce ticket prices and itinerary of the bus tour. We’ve also planned many surprise elements for the riders; the information for which will be up on our website ‘For Whom the Bus rolls’ by third week of September,” he adds.
Bengaluru being the rock capital of India, there are more takers for the concert there than Delhi. According to the fans the Delhi show would be a small performance by Metallica as part of the F1 opening ceremony alongwith other artistes like Black Eyed Peas, while Bengaluru will be an extended affair.
Ivan Lewis, who works with an ad agency and has registered for the bus tour from Mumbai to go to Bengaluru, says, “This will be a promising head-banging journey. I don’t want to miss that. The bus tour is an awesome idea and will make our journey easy and fun.”
And Delhi-based Robert Godinho, who has registered for Bengaluru concert, says it would be great to travel with likeminded people. “It’ll be fun to travel with Metal fans. We can share thoughts and jam.”
