Rise in cosmetic surgeries on eve of Karwa Chauth
In a world obsessed with looking as pretty as the face on a glossy fashion magazine, cosmetic surgery is gaining stride. Experts say many young girls are getting different cosmetic treatments done to look more glamorous and beautiful for Karwa Chauth.
Says Dr Navin Taneja, director, National Skin Centre, “The number of women seeking cosmetic surgery has rapidly increased in the last four to five years, especially around this time after Dussehra, and before Karwa Chauth. Fillers on the skin and peels for glow are a huge hit.”
From removal of wrinkles or getting flawless skin in just a few hours, women are out there to experiment. “When you can have a threaded facelift that helps hold back the worst of facial sagging for a few more years, why not try it? Karwa Chauth is when most women want to look their best and many women drop in for various treatments. They are usually inspired by celebs,” says Poonam Bagai, a parlor owner in West Delhi.
Some experts have noted a 20 per cent increase in their clientele around this time, with even men wanting to go under the knife. “With the increasing awareness about non-invasive cosmetic services available at affordable prices, there is an increase in our female clients on such occasions where looking good is the most important criteria. Some of the most popular treatments are Fraxel, Botox and Microdermabrasion etc,” says Dr Pritam Pankaj of New Look.
