One of the most popular American hard rock bands, Guns N’ Roses is all set to make its Indian debut. The rock legend will finally embark on a three-city tour in India, and yes, the itinerary includes Delhi as well. We catch up with the organisers to gauge the excitement levels the band is creating among the fans.

Karamjeet Singh, senior VP, planning and operations of Mooz Entertainment (organisers, who are bringing GNR to India) says, “Considering the popularity and and the fame of the band, bringing GNR was a challenge.”
Sharing some interesting tit-bits about the preparations involved in bringing the band to India, Karamjeet says, “It’s a major logistic and organisational challenge. AXL and his eight-member team will be flying down to India in separate chartered flights, while around 50 technological personnel like (drum technicians, piano-technicians etc) carrying tonnes of special equipment will be coming down to enthrall the audience.”
A special three-thrust stage, which will increase the intimacy between the performers and the audience, will be erecrted. Special marley flooring for the performance is what the band will be carrying along with them. I-Mag screens (image magnifying screens) will be mounted at the venues that will be playing high-definition live videos of the band.
The fan base in India is also ready to welcome the band. Sanchal Malhar, guitarist of The Indigo Children band says, “GNR can’t be the same without their former guitarist Slash. Nevertheless, the excitement is palpable. AXL Rose, the only remaining original member of the band is known for raising the excitement on stage by running around (even falling) the stage and head-banging. I would like to watch some action happening live.”
Talking about the preparations, Karamjeet shares, “There is an elaborate menu list of the band. Gallons of Polish beer, fine wines with a choice of cheeses and packets of pop-tarts also feature among the demand-list of the band.”
Fans are coming from other cities and keeping themselves free for the concert.
Vanessa Singh and her boyfriend are driving down to Delhi from Pune to watch the performance. “This is one concert that I have been waiting for since a long time. My current favourites by the band are the Chinese Democracy and The Spaghetti Incident,” says Vanessa .

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
