Rocker girl on a B-wood high
Singer Aditi Singh Sharma, who has sung popular songs like Aali Re (No One Killed Jessica), Dilli Dilli and Main Heroine Hoon (Heroine) among others moved to Mumbai from Delhi to pursue her dream of becoming a playback singer. We recently caught up with the young singer performing in the capital at Club Rhino.
Expressing her love for the capital, the front-woman and vocalist of the band Groove Adda rues, “I immensely miss Delhi. I miss the rock circuit, the gigs, the food and everything about Delhi.”
A graduate from Venky College, whenever she comes to the city, she makes it a point to go and eat butter-chicken at Pandara Road with her rocker friends. “My mother lives in Delhi, as does my best friend. Coming to Delhi is like coming back home,” she says.
Besides her Bollywood projects, Aditi has sung Hello Andheron for the Hollywood movie Avengers alongside Indie-rock band Agnee.
Describing her love for Delhi-based rock bands like Them Clones, Pentagram and Parikrama, Aditi says, “The members of these bands are my best buddies. We are like one big happy rock family. I have grown up with these boys. I make sure I attend all their concerts.”
Aditi made her playback-singing debut in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D.
