Salman is Best Actor once again
Salman Khan couldn’t have asked for a better start to the New Year. After ruling the box office in 2010, the star looks all set to sweep the awards season as well, by bagging his second Best Actor award at the Apsara Awards for Dabangg. Earlier, this year he had bagged his first ever award for Best Actor at the Star Screen Awards.
Top scorer of the night, Dabangg bagged awards for the best playback female singer (Mamta Sharma), best male singer (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan), best music (Sajid-Wajid), best performance in negative role (Sonu Sood), best dialogues (Abhinav Kashyap) and best female debut (Sonakshi Sinha).
Following Dabangg’s lead was Yash Chopra’s rom-com Band Bajaa Baaraat that took away six awards. While Ranveer Singh took home his first award for best male debut, his co-star Anushka Sharma got to share the Best Actress Award with Vidya Balan. The film also bagged awards for best editing, art-direction, costume-designer and best male debut director.
My Name Is Khan fetched Karan Johar the Best Director Award, while Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan were called on stage to receive their awards for Paa, because they had missed the awards last year. Besides Paa, Vidya was also announced Best Actress for Ishqiya.
