Samir takes essential breaks

Samir Soni has come a long way in the film and television industry. But even after all these years he makes sure he gets his much-needed breaks in between his hectic schedules. Television actors do lead crazy lives with erratic schedules taking a toll on their health. So it does become essential to take a break in between.
Samir says he realised this when he married his longtime sweetheart Neelam. “You know taking time off is important, especially when you are newly married,” says Samir. The actor who found a new lease of life after his marriage and Bigg Boss, says that he likes to spend quality time with family. Samir has been in the industry for years, but it was post Bigg Boss that Samir came into his own. “It’s true that television got me that respect and acceptane. I value it a lot,” he says with a touch of humility.
Samir is not new to the world of television, but the crazy deadlines and round-the-clock schedules can be quite stressful. “The worst part of it is that you don’t get to spend quality time with your family. And the best part is the adulation and the love an actor gets from the audience,” he says.
Currently shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s Parichay — Nayee Zindagi Sapno Ka, Samir says he makes time to work out and pay attention to his health as well. “That’s the only thing that keeps an overworked actor going. I never miss out on my work-outs,” says Samir.
After making it big after Bigg Boss, all that Samir wanted a stable life. “I was offered many reality shows after Bigg Boss, but I wanted to settle down and get married. Balaji Productions offered me a show that was male-centric soap. You know not many male-oriented shows are made on television. This was something different and I decided to take it up,” he says.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
