Sculpting The oomph factor

From Bipasha Basu’s hourglass figure in Dhoom 2 to Priyanka’s uber hot look in Don 2, many B-town stars have achieved the ‘oomph’ factor — a faraway dream for many. If you thought bodybuilding was a man thing, you are mistaken. Experts say that sculpting techniques are suitable for women too, provided they’re done in moderation.
Says celebrity fitness guru Satyajit Chaurasia, who has trained Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan and other B-town stars, “There are many cardio and circuit exercises that help losing that extra bit of flab; but if someone who has never ever exercised, wakes up one fine day and decides to shed weight just to look fab, it won’t help. The aim is to toil hard and sweat heavily.”
Looking good is top priority for every youngster and with heroines flaunting their awesome abs, they are motivated all the more. Says Vicky Kapoor, Krav Maga expert, “Celebrities and models sometimes skip eating during the day, in order to fit into their sexy attire. Exercises like cycling, jogging and weights help in defining the biceps. Treadmill and cycling will help in strengthening and defining the back. There are workouts that’ll help in toning up specific body parts.”
The easiest part of the body that can lose flab is the waist, according to experts. Even simple exercises like crunches and yoga asanas like kapalbhaati make a difference.
Says M. Ershad, a Kollywood celeb trainer, “If you’re aiming at sporting a flat tummy, practice kapalbhaati 15 times on empty stomach. The stomach is tucked in by one inch or half an inch and this exercise yields immediate results. It is suitable for those who want to avoid a rigorous training session.”
Experts have a number of dos and don’ts when it comes to deciding food intake.
“Fresh juices and protein-rich food help in keeping the energy levels consistent. Nuts, almonds, greens and fruits help in adding that glow to the skin and body as well,” sums Udaya Kumar, a fitness guru down south.
