Shahid wary of wrong move

If there’s one thing Shahid Kapur can’t go wrong with, it’s got to be his dancing prowess. The actor, who is known for his exceptional rhythm and energy on stage, says it took him a while to find his calling and love for dance.

After an electrifying performance on stage at an award ceremony, Shahid blew away the audience with his high-octane moves. “Till sometime ago, I was a complete introvert. But I have worked hard to get myself out of the shell,” he says. The actor, who is one hit away from joining the elite list of superstars, says he is consciously treading his path in Bollywood. “I am aware of the focus one needs to succeed in this industry. One wrong move can prove to be detrimental. So I put in extra energy and hard work in all my films,” he says.
Shahid has also been in news for his alleged “liaisons” with some of the most beautiful leading ladies. Shahid, who has always chosen to stay mum about his personal life, says, “Let’s not get started.”
We prod him a little further about how it felt to be surrounded by ladies who were linked with him at different points in time in life, and pat comes the answer, “Look, I’ve always been comfortable with all my co-stars.” However, he still maintained a safe distance from his rumoured ex-love Bipasha Basu. Along with Ranbir Kapoor at the Iifa awards as a host, he chatted Vidya Balan up, who was also linked with him. “I’m happy for Vidya’s success and she is a fabulous person. The only person who I have a problem with is Priyanka Chopra. Wonder how she eats so much and takes so long to get ready,” he says.
Shahid is happy with compliments pouring his way as a good dancer and actor. And as a host, Shahid has come into his own. “I’m quite proud of it,” he says.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
