Show is not over for debutante Anya
Seventeen-year-old Anya Anand is still trying to get used to the limelight that her debut film Yeh Khula Aasman had brought her into.
The film, directed by Gitanjali Sinha, was a surprise release and so is the pretty lass whose acting skills have wowed the critics. “I am still not over all the attention. It’s something I had never imagined. It felt a little weird initially but I am still getting used to it,” says an anxious Anya, “I just hope the film does well in the coming weeks.”
The Class 12 student has never taken any acting lessons, except dabbling with few school plays, but she didn’t go through any camera fright when she gave her first shot. “I don’t know why but I felt really comfortable in front of the camera. I felt like home,” she says.
However, it wasn’t an easy ride for the actress. “We shot the entire film in a month. And there were times when I felt like I can’t do this. That my expressions weren’t up to the mark. But Raj Tondon (her co-star) helped me through it. He always encouraged me. In fact we both motivated each other a lot,” she adds.
Anya, however, doesn’t really have a Bollywood dream. “All I ever dreamt of was studying law, which is still a priority. I like acting, but I don’t have any Bollywood connections. And I wonder if I would be able to make it big without a godfather,” she adds.
