Sibling duo on a record high
Thirty instruments, 60 minutes and a world record; the agenda was set for siblings B. Sai Teja (19) and B. Kalyani Gupta (18). But they did just one thing differently — the terrific duo accomplished the feat in 10 minutes less than the scheduled time!
Sai and Kalyani played 30 different instruments within a span of just 50 minutes. Their play list comprised classical, western, filmy, patriotic and devotional songs.
While Sai is into tabla, rhythm pads and jazz drums, Kalyani plays the keyboard and sitar. They began their practice sessions for the record 20 days prior to the event.
“Even though we were excited about attempting the record, we weren’t sure if we would be able to play 30 instruments in such a short time,” says Kalyani. The siblings have already found space in the Wonder World Book of Records and are awaiting confirmation from the Limca Book of Records.
The encouragement and support from their family made it possible for them to set the record.
“We managed time between studies and practice sessions. Our parents are understanding, which is an added advantage for us,” Kalyani shares. Both the siblings are pursuing engineering studies.
