If you’re single and not ready to mingle, don’t just sit alone and crib. Instead, go out and have some fun with your friends. With the world busy exchanging gifts with their partners, singles in the city plan to pamper themselves on Valentine’s Day.

Planning an all girls’ night out, Megha Singh is throwing a pajama party in her hostel. “I have planned a small party for all my single girlfriends in my room. From watching romantic flicks to enoying heady mocktails and delicious food, we are all set. We also plan to dance all night on desi tracks. It’s a small treat for all my best girlfriends on Valentine’s Day.”
Many places in the city are also hosting a series of events for singles to make them feel special. To help you find your match or flirt around, Olive at Qutub is organising a pre-Valentine’s do today, for singles. Mansi, event coordinator, Olive says, “It’s for people who want to enjoy their singlehood. Amidst good music and great food, one can flirt around or maybe find a match for themselves, because it’s a party with many singles around.”
Just to make singles feel better and smarter, Fashos.com, online shoe website, is rewarding singles for giving out relevant and wacky reasons to prove that singlehood is fun.
Navin Joshua, founder of the website shares, “It’s totally for people who’re single and smart. We have personalised a webpage on Facebook, where fans can post and tell the world that they are single, smart and their reason for liking singlehood and we’ll reward singles who give us some of the most interesting out-of-the-box reasons to why being single is fun.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
