A socially high livelihood
Did you know you can get paid for being on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites all day long?
Companies today are looking at hiring youngsters to take care of their social networking pages. The role comes with a fancy designation of social media
mentor , with a salary package as per industry standards. Additionally, the role demands the person to be unabashedly creative, bold, smart and vocal.
“You need to be on social networking sites to ensure your brand emerges successfully. So if it means improving communication and feedback, firms don’t mind hiring the right people,” says Rajiv Matthew, an internal communication consultant.
If you have sharp writing skills, presence of mind and are an FB/Twitter addict, you qualify for the job. “I started about a year back. Initially I handled the Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles of my company. Now I help clients get onboard social sites and build an image. I can confidently say what works for a certain company and what doesn’t,” says Amrutha Raman, content & social media technology mentor.
Youngsters who work at companies like these companies get a platform to not only use their expertise in social networking but also graduate to the level of social media marketing. “This two way interaction with today’s youth, demands someone young and fresh managing the brands online. So colleges are also introducing courses to cater to this sudden boom.” says Sai Prasad, Professor of Marketing in a media studies institute.
