Actor and hunk Matt Bomer, the star of the popular White Collar series, recently came out and publicly acknowledged his homosexuality. He joins a list of sexy celebs who have come out of the closet, but still have the ladies pining for them. We find out who are the sexiest gay celebs according to women.
A celebrity’s sexual orientation doesn’t affect his sex appeal, according to model Priya Nayak. “It’s not like I’m going to meet Ricky Martin in this lifetime so how does it make a difference to me if he’s gay. He’s still hot and sings like a dream,” she says. Far from being heartbroken when she found out that one of her favourite singers was gay, Priya says, “All the good men are either gay or married, as they say. I think there’s some truth to that saying.”
Live and let live, is Grammy award-winning musician and entrepreneur Tanvi Shah’s motto when it comes to people’s dating preferences. She quips, “The question here is, does it really make a difference to a celebrity what his fans think? I’ve always been a big fan of Neil Patrick Harris since his Doogie Howser days and I’m sure he’ll be just as awesome whether people accept his gay lifestyle or not.” Tanvi also names fictional gay hottie Will Truman (played by Eric McCormack) in the series Will and Grace as a favourite.
“The notion that all gay guys are effeminate is outdated and we have a dozen hot guys on the big screen to prove it,” points out Sanchita Kumar, an IT professional. “Sure there are the sweet Chris Colfers (Glee’s Kurt Hummel), but there are also the tough Rob Halfords (vocalist of Judas Priest). My favourite however, would be Zachary Quinto who plays Spock in the new Star Trek. He has an intensity that makes me go weak in the knees,” she admits.
Times are surely changing and even straight dudes have no issues admitting they like gay celebs. DJ Hussain, who grew up listening to icons like George Michael points out, “In the music scene, we have always had gay celebs right from Freddie Mercury to Elton John. I think it takes a lot of courage even today to come out in the open, and I respect that. If I like an artiste, I don’t care if he’s straight or gay.”
