Sonakshi loves the old world charm
Sonakshi Sinha is one busy bee. After running about town for her much-awaited movie Rowdy Rathore, the actress is swamped with shooting schedules.
She is currently working on three films with the industry’s top guns —Joker and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, with Akshay Kumar, Son of Sardar with Ajay Devgn and Dabangg 2 with Salman Khan.
But it doesn’t bother Sona that all of these are male-oriented films. “While signing a movie, I don’t think about things like how much role I have in a film or how many awards it will fetch me. All that matters to me is how much I can relate to the character and how much I like my role,” she says.
The actress who recently finished shooting for the period film Lootera opposite Ranveer Singh (with director Vikramditya Motwane) is flattered that not just filmmakers, but even the audiences feel like she has the looks of a yesteryear actress. “I take it as a huge compliment when people tell me that I look like I belong to an earlier era. In fact, that is precisely what gets me certain roles. That is what helped me bag Dabangg and got me Lootera. But of course, it’s not just about the looks. One has to make an extra effort to get into the skin of the character for such a role. I have learned a lot from this movie,” she says.
Currently in a happy place, Sonakshi is content with the films she is doing and the way her career is shaping up. Being a true daddy’s girl, Sona gives all the credit for her success to her father, Shatrughan Sinha. “I am my daddy’s daughter. And I will be one all my life, no matter how successful I become or how old I get,” she says as she breaks into a beaming smile.
