‘SOTY will always be special’
Varun Dhawan is riding high on the success of his debut release Student of The Year. Karan Johar’s youngest male student is ecstatic about the love and adulation showered upon him. “To get so much of love from people is surreal. I’m happy that SOTY has done well.
But I’m also aware of the fact that I might not get such a big opportunity every time,” he says.
We ask Varun if his filmmaker father David Dhawan and brother Rohit Dhawan have offered him a film as yet. “My father is a very serious filmmaker. He may have made comedy films, but he takes the art of filmmaking seriously. I’m sure they will offer me a film only when they think I suit the role,” he adds.
Interestingly, the actor was mobbed by groups of boys on two occasions. “That was a funny incident,” he recalls. “Look, I can’t stop people from liking or disliking me. Irrespective of gender or class, fans are fans,” he laughs.
So are the rumours about him and Alia Bhatt seeing each other true? “Alia is a pretty girl, but if there was something, why would I want to hide it? There is a lot of time before I get into a relationship.”
