Soundarya impresses dad
Here is good news for Rajinikanth’s innumerable fans. Finally, Kochadaiyaan, Soundarya Ashwin’s maiden directorial venture, will hit screens. The countdown has already begun.
On Thursday, the superstar, along with Soundarya and the technical crew, including K.S.Ravikumar, Madesh and Ramesh Kanna, watched the fully edited version of Kochadaiyaan at their studio. He was all appreciation for his daughter. Apparently, Rajinikanth was elated and Soundarya, the director, is obviously in seventh heaven after getting such feedback from her father, an icon.
The young filmmaker later wrote in her microblog, “One of the most important days of my life. Kochadaiyaan locked :) Appa & KS Ravikumar uncle watched the entire movie and r thrilled!!! :):)”. K.S. Ravikumar had said that the film was grander than expected.
The cast consists of Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone who plays Rajini’s love interest, Sarathkumar, Nassar, Jackie Shroff, Aadhi, Shobana and Rukmini. It has Oscar winner A.R.Rahman’s music, yet another highlight.
Kochadaiyaan is the first time in Asia that performance capturing film technology has been used, previously only used in Avatar and Tintin. KC has a unique concept which immortalises Superstar Rajinikanth. To put it in his words, “People can see a young and energetic Rajinikanth in the movie.”
Soundarya says that the last few months have been spent in active post-production in Chennai and London.
“Dubbing, rerecording and special effects start on March 15 in London, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Now that Appa has approved the film, we are working out the schedules for releasing its audio soon,” she says.
