Special site for 30+ singles to gang up

The site is set for singletons. Catering to those 30 and above who are — unmarried, divorced, separated, widowed, single parent who never married, is a novel networking site called happysingles.in. A social community for 30+, this isn’t a matrimonial or a dating site. This site helps assist members to connect with like-minded people.
Corporate trainer Kartick Raina, 32, (name changed) a member of happysingles.in, shares, “I am so glad, finally there’s something that caters to single people who are not looking for a relationship. Now, I no longer need to request my married friends to keep me on their guest list, or ask them to accompany me to a movie.â€
Agrees Shailja Dhawan, 34, public relations executive, “We all met for the first time last week and after a good Sunday brunch, we all watched Dabanng. The concept is nice, It’s upfront and helps people to connect. A good social cause and we hope to have a big group of like-minded friends as we grow older.â€
Talking about the community Amit Sabharwall, CEO, founder of happysingles.in says, “Being single has its own fallouts. I’ve been through a bad patch myself and I know what it means to be single. I know so many of my friends and associates who are leading similar single lives. This is an honest step forward to connect to like-minded singles because, no matter, who we are or where we come from — we (almost) share those same desires or distress.â€
Like other websites, this does not display its members on the site. Amit says, “We value the privacy of our members. This is not a match-fixing site. And we are very particular about who becomes our member. It’s strictly through reference. We follow a proper authentication code. We organise meetings in groups. It could be a Sunday brunch or dinner and, if members want to meet up individually later, it’s their choice.â€

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
