The specialty of the house

Welcome to the world of hardworking young couples and High Networth Individuals (HNIs) who are splashing out like never before to acquire their dream abodes. The latest trend on Indian residential scene is really noteworthy — boutique homes, which had taken a back seat during the financial slowdown, have made a convincing comeback.
And with the demand for such properties rising by over 30-40 per cent in the last year, makers of this rather specialised niche are going full throttle to implement newer ideas to lure their prized occupants. Pricing is only a secondary issue. Boutique homes have every possible high-end amenity with the personal specifications of individual buyers being factored in as well. Location, interiors, furnishings and lifestyle accessories are uncompromisingly top of the line — as boutique homes are extremely unique residential propositions.
Says Managing Director of the Logix group, Shaktinath, “Boutique homes provide the finest in luxury living. For instance, the La Premiere residences planned by us have private plunge pools and steam and jacuzzi facilities in every abode. We have 250 meticulously designed residences spread over six acres of landscaped green with every bedroom facing lush, green boulevards.”
The trend is fast becoming the rage. Take the case of Rajiv and Jyoti Malhotra who bought a boutique home in Alpha Group’s GurgaonOne in Haryana. “Being part of a boutique complex is a pampering experience and allows you the opportunity to focus on the most important thing: living,” says Jyoti who is a chartered accountant and works in Colt Technologies as Associate Director.
Constructed in limited numbers in high-profiled locations Ashwini Kumar, COO, Nitesh Estates says that the properties are designed to include everything that pampers your mind, body and soul. The company has come up with only 36 very high-end villas in Goa, exclusively designed for the Who’s Who in the country. “The natural scenic beauty of the location was the single most compelling reason for such a project. Located on the banks of the River Sal, close to the pristine white sandy beaches in South Goa, the homes are a dream come true,” adds Kumar.
Lapping up the new surge in the demand, the realty arena has seen the launch of quite a few projects including the Lodha Group’s World One, which will have about 300 exclusive boutique homes.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
