Spicy opportunity to be the hautest diva

Here’s good news for music enthusiasts of the city. A lucky diva may soon have an opportunity to be a part of the upcoming all Asia Spice Girls band. Yes, the founders of Spice Girls are planning to scout Indian cities for talent.
“It’s fabulous news because I can’t think of a bigger all-girls band than Spice Girls. They are the ultimate and being a part of a similar band will be a dream come true,” says 23-year-old Chahat Uppal, who’s already planning to go for the auditions.
The founders of Spice Girls, FarWest Entertainment through their partners Alchemist Talent Solutions will bring together five “good-looking, intelligent and talented” young Asian women from China, Japan, South Korea and India for this band.
“To be a part of such a prestigious band, one has to be a complete package. It’s a great opportunity and a matter of pride for the country. So, youngsters should focus on their overall look and work on their confidence-level as well,” suggests singer and performer Shibani Kashyap.
Now Chahat, who has given some “spectacular” performances for college events has signed up for a weight loss program, and is putting in some extra hours on her vocals. Twenty two-year-old professional Shikha Davessar is honing her dancing skills. “As a performer it’s your overall skills which are going to count. My plus point is my dancing, and I want to feel more confident about it,” says Shikha. “I can’t imagine a successful band other than Spice Girls. Being associated with a Grammy Award winning songwriter Eliot Kennedy one needs to put in good preparations. But here destiny will also play its role,” says Neha Grover, who’s also keen on setting up an all-women music band, and enjoys jamming sessions with friends. The initiative, called Project Lotus will train and groom Asian talent. The five finalists will be flown to Hong Kong to be trained with finalists from other countries. A 14 part series of auditions will be aired on Zee Cafe.
