The spotlight’s still on Karisma

Dangerous Ishkq was supposed to be Karisma Kapoor’s grand comeback vehicle to Bollywood. And Lolo’s return to the big screen was a carefully orchestrated event. A while before the film released, we even began to see more of Karisma on the television, whether it was for a skin cream she endorsed or as a yummy mummy who wanted only the best for her kids, be it a brand of diapers, almonds or even breakfast cereal.

Well, Dangerous Ishkq may have tanked without a trace at the box office, despite Lolo looking — and trying — her best. But that doesn’t mean she’s going to give up, right? She’s continuing with her range of endorsements and, say sources, waiting for the right role to try her hand at.
In the meantime, her public appearances seem to be keeping Lolo occupied. She was recently spotted at a mall in the western suburbs, surrounded by a gaggle of kids as she demonstrated an augmented reality game. And by the looks of it, Lolo (who’s very much a hands-on mommy to Samaira and Kiaan) was handling the attention from her young fans really well.
“Karisma demonstrated the game to them, and didn’t seem fazed at all when the children, rather enthusiastically, crowded around her, asking for instructions. She happily watched the kids tackle obstacles to complete the game’s levels, and wished them luck as they began their tasks,” said one attendee at the event. Clearly, the kids weren’t the only ones who were charmed!
Now if only bowling over the audiences with her next Bollywood project would be as easy.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
