According to a recent poll, Sridevi was voted the greatest Indian actress in 100 years. Her comeback film English Vinglish, where her portrayal of Shashi was loved by all, seems to have helped her top the poll.

“Shashi’s character was very believable and every woman could identify with it. I’m happy with the response my film garnered. It was overwhelming. The film instilled confidence in women. Some of them even came to me and told me that they have started learning English after watching the film,” said Sridevi, who was in the capital for the launch of Fiona, a digital RO water purifying technology.
Excited about her second innings in Bollywood, she told us that she is enjoying being back in front of the camera and the spontaneity of the medium. “I am loving every bit of it. I am a spontaneous actor. I don’t like to take many takes. For me, the first take is the best, second is good, third is okay, fourth is bad and fifth is a disaster. It saves time as well,” she smiled.
While she remained tightlipped about her upcoming projects, she confirmed that she would be part of Mr India 2. “Of course, I will be part of Mr India 2. But right now, it is too early to talk about. Right now my husband is busy with No Entry Main Entry. So that is our priority now,” added Sridevi.
Boney Kapoor was her fan before he became her husband. They share a rock-solid relationship. According to her, Boney is her biggest critic. “I have to please him before dressing up for any event.”
She recently joined Twitter and the challenge of expressing herself in 140 characters has started to excite her. “It’s a new kind of experience and I am liking it a lot,” she concluded.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
