The stars tell all!

Aditya Redij, television actor
I ensure that minimal make-up is applied on my face when I am shooting. I have been blessed with a clear complexion which allows me to do so. I ensure that I don’t use soap to clean either my face nor my body. I go with a facewash and shower gel instead. It really makes the skin supple. I get a clean up done every two weeks or I do it myself at home, to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads. If I am in the mood to pamper myself, I get a facial done at a salon once a month. I am not too fussy when it comes to my hair. I just make sure to keep my scalp clean and dandruff free.

Biggest beauty secret: Eight hours of sleep. The benefits really show on your face.

Adhuna Bhabani Akhtar, Creative Direc-tor, b:blunt
Drinking lots of water is my mantra to clear skin. Since I don’t have the time to go for facials on a weekly basis, I cleanse, tone and moisturise my face every day. For my hair, I find it best and most convenient to have short, sharp hair as it is so easy to ma-intain and looks good. My hair is usually cut and looked after by my staff at the salon.
Hydration treatment is done on a weekly basis. They cut it often, the way I like it. To unwind, I find it best to sit at the salon and get a good hair wash from my expert hairstylist.

Biggest beauty secret: I never hit the sack without washing my face at night or washing off my make up.

Deepika Padukone, actress
The key to a healthy lifestyle is eating right, getting ample rest and sticking to a workout pattern. Being an actor, you are working round the clock and in various locations so there are certain essentials I always carry. Hydration is the most natural and safest way to attain good skin, so a bottle of water is ideal. Skin cream is another essential. You must carry sun block with you always.
And all these steps even reflect on your hair. Personally, I love experimenting with my hair for my movies. If you notice, I have a distinct look and style in all my movies. My personal favourite is Om Shanti Om — the long hair, beehives and eyeliner really worked and I loved that look!

Biggest beauty secret: When you have stylists like Bharat and Dorris behind the styling of a film, you have nothing much to worry about!

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
