Lets Hope the Men in Blue Win Today!! as Have a Hot Sensational ‘SURPRISE’ for the Win...It wil Get Hotter n Hotter as i Promised!! for there every Win!! from Now on!!! Stay tune!!! Love u all Muwwwaaah!! (sic),” tweets model Poonam Pandey who has been tweeting in support of team India since the World Cup and is now looking to keep her “promise.”
Poonam has now embarked on a new spree — posting revealing pictures on Twitter — to supposedly motivate team India who are playing the ODI series in England.
She made news when she claimed she’d dare to bare if team India won the World Cup. This fame got her a spot on Khatron ke Khiladi and sources say she is also being approached for Big Boss 5. One wonders if such “nude shocks” can help one leapfrog on the long road to fame or if they only end up making a laughing stock of themselves?
While people in the glamour industry feel that such controversies do help in providing instant visibility, it can also become a hurdle in achieving bigger dreams.
Actor and ex-Big Boss housemate Sambhavna Seth says, “Poonam (Pandey) is an attention-seeking lass. She wanted a short-cut to fame, and she got to be a part of the KKK because of that. If her next target is Big Boss, then she will have to go nude. But this method of approaching fame is short-lived. Such an act can turn you into somebody from nobody, but if you don’t have the right skills, you can’t proceed further only by stripping. I was a part of a reality show for being a loud-mouth in public, but I know my real talent lay in dancing and that has provided me a real base in the industry.”
Agrees socialite Tanisha Mohan and says, “Now people know who Poonam Pandey is. She has participated in reality shows and has thousands of young fans following her on Twitter thanks to her controversial statements and pictures. Stripping has given her a base and a platform, but now it depends on how she takes it from here. With only such publicity, she is killing her future options. Later, she might be typecast for reality shows only.”
For actress Bhavan Pani of Tere Liye fame, fame with no respect is useless. “Such shocking surprises can get you initial mileage but it degrades your reputation. As far as film industry is concerned, she will definitely get offers, but not for quality films.”
There are others who feel that it’s an individual’s choice. Designer Monisha Bajaj says, “It’s not the right way to go, but at the same time, it’s also one’s personal choice. She knows her goals, and if she can achieve that by doing all this, then what’s the harm?”
Seconds actor Vir Das, “People have unique choice and unique ways to gain limelight and I support that. I support nudity and if a woman has a great body to flaunt, I think she can go ahead and do it.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
