Superhero summer beckons

This summer has been dubbed the superhero extravaganza — and rightly so, as fanboys all over the world prepare to welcome two of the biggest action flicks of 2013: Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel. Robert Downey Jr.’s immaculate charisma and style has transformed what could have been a overhyped, run-of-the-mill CGI fest into a genuinely, endearing super-hero whose other wordly problems we could relate to! But with the previous Superman movies turning into damp squibs, what can we expect from the upcoming franchise?
“I’m a huge fan of the Iron Man flicks — since it is delivered not only on crazy graphics, but also a great script, screenplay and perfect casting. In most trilogies, the best story is saved for the finale, so there is a lot to expect this time around. Can’t wait!” says Mayur Moorthy, guitarist of the rock band Devolution. Even filmmakers are looking forward to the movies with some zeal. Director Balaji Mohan excitedly quips, “The Man of Steel trailers look amazing!With Christopher Nolan as producer, who I consider a demi-god of sorts, this movie really promises a lot. What Nolan did to revamp the Batman trilogy was unprecedented; let’s hope he can do the same with Superman too!”
It’s not just the guys; the women too are into superheroes! Model Priya Thalur can’t stop gushing about Robert Downey Jr., “These kind of movies are fabulous entertainment — who wouldn’t love them,” she asks.
