Swedish invasion
They’ve performed with the leading DJs in the world of dance music — be it Tiesto, Axwell or Steve Angello — but Rebecca Scheja and Fiona Fitzpatrick are stars in their own right.
In their home country of Sweden, Rebecca and Fiona (as they are known), have notched up several double platinum singles, and a TV show that follows their work as DJs and producers is a rage among the club-hopping set. They call DJing together a “natural progression of the friendship”.
On their India visit, the girls performed in Mumbai. “We played a lot of new tracks, including our unreleased next single, and got a lot of energy and smiles after our show,” the girls enthused. “Touring around the world, seeing places like India is what really excites us,” says Rebecca. “It’s great that we get to work with the two things we like the most, which is making music and DJing. We love to be on tour, meet new people and see new places. But sometimes we really miss our friends and family back home…”
The girls work hard at the touring — last year alone, they clocked appearances at over 100 shows and completed a month-long tour of the US. They name Kaskade as being among the people they love working with most, and then add quickly, “But we also like a lot to work with our boyfriends and brothers. The year 2013 has started on a high note for the girls with yet another single, Taken Over, reaching the top of the charts back home.
