Take your flick, this New Year!

Maybe it’s time we all stopped wondering what the earth-shattering apocalyptic event, that was to be, would’ve been like. Because, destiny decided to retain the explosion for 2013. One look at the film releases lined up for this year will tell you why. While good ol’ classics are returning to the big screen, there is also a series of sequels and mega productions in the pipeline. Celebs from the city tell us about the flicks they’re most excited about.
Remember the gruesome Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Get ready for more gore, guts and blood as the horror revisits us in 3D. Texas Chainsaw 3D is one of the first releases of January, while The Evil Death hits screens in April.
Actress Ragini Dwivedi says,“I prefer entertaining flicks which are light-hearted. I’m really looking forward to Hangover 3 and Transformers.”
Sequel lovers, get set for an extravaganza featuring the likes of Man of Steel, Wolverine, Hangover 3, Fast 6, The Smurfs 2, Transformers 4 and Iron Man 3. Director Pavan Kumar says, “I have my eye on directors so I am looking forward to Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Nolan’s Man Of Steel. These guys almost always outdo themselves with each film.”
Before you think this is a Hollywood film guide, there is a lot coming up in India too! One of the most awaited sequels is Race 2, which stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Saif Ali Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez. Shootout at Wadala comes a close second. Chitrangada Singh-starrer Finally, watch out for Dhoom 3, featuring a badass Aamir being chased by Abhishek Bachchan. Inkaar is another much-awaited flick as is Vishal Bharadwaj’s Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola and filmmaker Rakshit Shetty says, “The trailers look impressive. I am looking forward to offbeat flicks like Matru Ki.., and Anurag Kashyap’s next.”
