Taking style tips from B’town
Asin has been seen sporting a unique dressing style and making heads turn with her elegant attire. There has been particular focus on her ever since she moved to Bollywood, as it happens with most actresses who move up North.
“A few years ago, I was just wearing what my designers made for me. But, of late, I have been taking personal interest in my dressing. Here in B-town, one’s sense of style is part of one’s personality. I work with my designers and plan each outfit that I wear for public appearances. Uncomplicated, non-fussy, and comfortable is my style statement,” she says. About her Kerala-style attire, she says, “That was my mom’s sari and even the jewellery was the traditional Mallu type.”
B-town is known to magnify the fashion sense of actresses. Popular Chennai designer Sydney Sladen says, “When it comes to fashion, B-town magazines are very active. They spot the worst and best dressed. Nobody wants to be on the worst dressed list. So every actress has become more conscious about her look after moving to Bollywood. Actresses work really hard to look fantastic. I have personally observed that Ileana’s look has completely changed after her debut Hindi film, Barfee.”
Actress Madhu Shalini, who is currently working with Ram Gopal Varma, says, “Mumbai is the best place for makeovers. I have groomed myself better after my work experience in a Bollywood film. Exposure in B-town is actually a great opportunity for an actress to look more beautiful and stylish.”
