Flowers and romantic candlelight dinners don’t quite measure up to expectations any more. It’s all about that ride on a private jet or limo, or cozying up in a luxurious love shack this Valentine’s Day. Indulgence comes with a steep price tag as couples opt for a host of luxury services to woo their partner and celebrate the day of romance.

For that “love ride” with a partner who’s out of town, Rockman’s Nightclub, Gurgaon is organising a special pick and drop service in a lavish limousine or a private jet. DJ Rummy, who will be performing on the day at the bar, informs, “It’s for those who want to spring an extraordinary surprise on their loved one. One can book a limousine or a classic vintage car. We are also proving a private jet service. It should be flight ride of minimum one hour, where all the services from drinks to gifts and flowers will be personalised according to the couple’s choice. It is priced at `1 lakh onwards.”
Some are in the mood to get romantic in cute and cozy cabanas and shacks. While Rockman is providing a special lounge area called Love Cabanas with customised service and a private butler, pub Second Sin is coming up with a special Kamasutra night on their Indian terrace with “Love Shacks” for romantics along with a holiday package priced at `25,000 onwards. Kushagra Nagrath, COO, Second Sin says, “It’s a complete fun package, which will have a personal butler and personal chef to cook for the couples. One can spend time with their loved ones and then leave for a lovely holiday for two days to Goa.”
Delhi-based doctor Angush Aggarwal has already booked a love shack for his wife Glossy Sabarwal for the special day. “She is coming back from Nagpur after three years. So I wanted to welcome her in a special way. I liked the concept and as we both love Goa and the beaches, a trip there would be best way to spend time together after three years. It will be fun and rejuvenating.”
Some young and married couples are gifting their special ones special mobile spa treatment organised by Tatha, which provides body therapy customised according to one’s zodiac sign, at your doorstep for `6,000. “It’s a Greek concept. We would first have the therapist counselling and then the service will be provided according to your zodiac. For instance, for Virgos, people under this sign generally face stomach problems or joint pains. Along with body massage and other therapies, we will work on the particular problem areas to correct the imbalances in one’s system,” says Divita Kanoria, founder, Tatha.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
