‘We love making music’
Their love for music got them together almost two years ago. The Urban EarlyMen band, a five-member band that has four of its members studying in college, was chosen as a finalist from India in the MRU Music Awards 2012 from the four bands of India that were earlier nominated for the Best International Act 2012 sponsored by DyNaMik Records.
The band, formed in the summer of 2011, is a Psychedelic Rock band that draws its influence from Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, The Doors and many others that have an element of psychedelia.
Siby Mathew, a Mass Communication student from IP University, who is the rhythm guitarist with the band, says that it was good to be nominated for the awards as it encouraged them to do better. “Though we couldn’t win the award, it was nice to be among the top five. At the end, it’s making music that we love and this nomination has given us the confidence to make better music,” he says.
