What does this artist shed awareness on?
Dyslexia. While doodling might predominantly be a hobby born out of boredom, this artist has made scribbling serve a cause.
Artist and illustrator Vince Low, from Kuala Lumpur, uses his seemingly mad doodles to produce stunning portraits of famous faces. His ‘Faces’ project began when he created three portraits of famous dyslexics to create awareness: Pablo Picasso, Albert Einstein and John Lennon.
The advertising campaign for the Dyslexia Association of Malaysia has a deep connection with Vince, as he is dyslexic himself. This is when he got the inspiration to use the scribbled style for a personal project featuring other famous faces.
According to The Daily Mail, Vince stated that most people weren’t aware of this disorder at all. So they used well-known celebrities to illustrate that dyslexia isn’t a curse, but a gift.
