What happened to these princesses?
Well, they reached the end of their fairy tales, decided nothing good ever came out of being dainty and endearing, and turned evil instead. Let’s face it, aren’t we tired of their squeaky-clean personalities already?
Anyway, that’s what character designer and story artist Jeffrey Thomas seems to have had in mind when he transformed Disney’s beloved classic leading ladies into snarling, weapon-wielding characters in his latest photo series, Twisted Disney Princesses, reports Mashable.
Each Disney princess still resonates with characteristics that reflect their persona in their respective movies or books. For instance, Snow White seems to be using all her dwarves to do her evil bidding, having them on leashes. Jasmine and her ‘pet’ tiger’ look ready to take over the world, using unimaginable powers of sorcery. Cinderella appears straight out of a Halloween thriller. Alice, on the other hand, resembles a batty old woman on her couch, obsessed with time travel.
Even Nala, Simba’s mate from The Lion King, lets out a blood-curdling growl in search of prey. But our personal favourite? It has to be the devilishly wicked Ariel from The Little Mermaid with one skeletal hand, the other caressing an equally scary-looking fish. Jeepers creepers, indeed.
