What is the Hypoxi method?
If you’ve been wondering how to shed those extra kilos, and are done trying various fad diets and slimming procedures, but haven’t lost any considerable amount of weight, then Hypoxi method could just be the solution for you. You don’t have to sweat it out in the gym and neither do you have to go under the knife.
Founded in 1998 by sport scientist Dr Nobert Egger, this concept was used to target body shaping. It uses a developed training equipment in specially designed studios. But how healthy are these techniques and what kind of changes would it bring in?
Ashok Vithlani, of Hypoxi studios in India says that the machines improve blood circulation and targets those areas where fat is stored. “It’s not like there is no workout regime. You have to work out for half an hour before you start the machines,” says Vithlani. So for all those who believe it isn’t a natural method, it is because it improves your metabolism,” says Vithlani.
Diet consultant and nutritionist Kamini Saha-Shetty says though such methods might be popular, it is necessary to work out and not let your body starve or be deprived of any nutrients. “I’m not so sure about this method, but in general, it is always healthy to go running or do some physical activity for 30 minutes. This method will surely help you tone up, but I would recommend some rigorous physical activity for at least half an hour to maintain a toned body,” says Kamini.
