What is a Scrooser?
A Scrooser is a cross between a child’s scooter, a Segway and a bike that gives you the feeling of ‘surfing’ while you are on your way to work. This fat-wheeled scooter gives you an experience similar to ‘going surfing or snowboarding through the city’.
The Scrooser that can zoom through the streets at two mph to 15 mph has an intelligent impulse drive that provides electric power support that enhances the amount of physical force the foot has pushed off the ground. You do not require a helmet or a license to operate this mean machine.
The German company of the same name says it takes about three hours to charge the battery. One battery lasts for almost 25 days in a city environment if it’s ridden on the Eco mode. Founder Jens Thieme was quoted in The Daily Mail, saying, “You can ride it at 6 mph, a perfect pace at which to manoeuvre through pedestrian-filled sidewalks, but feel free to race cyclists on bike paths at a maximum speed of up to 15mph.” He also went on to add that their biggest challenge during the development of the Scrooser was its frame geometry.
